Cristina Llanos Fayos was born on December 3, 1975. She is a Spanish musician, singer, guitarist, and songwriter. Cristina was the main singer and wrote most of the songs for the Spanish rock band Dover.
Who is Cristina Llanos?
Cristina went to Virgen de Europa School. When she was 18, she left school. She then lived in London for six months. After that, she worked in clothing stores owned by her mother.
Cristina is the younger sister of Amparo Llanos. Amparo was the guitarist and leader of Dover. She taught Cristina to play guitar. Amparo also introduced Cristina to famous bands. These included The Beatles, R.E.M., and Nirvana.
Cristina's Music Career
Cristina started her music career in 1992. She formed the band Dover with her sister Amparo. Jesús Antúnez also joined them. They found a bassist named Alvaro Díez.
Their first album was called "Sister". It was released in 1995. This album did not sell many copies, only about 700.
Two years later, in 1997, they released "Devil Came to Me". This album was a huge success! They sold 800,000 copies.
In 2006, Dover released "Follow the City Lights". With this album, their music style changed. They started using more electronic sounds. A few years later, they released "I Ka Kené". This album had a strong influence from African music.
In February 2015, Dover released their last album, "Complications". With this album, they went back to their original rock sound. Cristina wrote most of the lyrics for Dover's songs.
