Cristina Otero (born Cristina Otero Pascual on November 29, 1995) is a talented Spanish artist and photographer. She is most famous for her creative and artistic self portraits.
A self-portrait is a picture that an artist takes of themself. Otero became well-known for being the youngest artist in Spain to have her own art show in a gallery. She was only 15 years old at the time.

Early Life and Inspiration
Cristina Otero was born in Pontevedra, a city in the Galicia region of Spain. She is the youngest of three children. From a young age, she discovered a passion for photography.
Her interest in photography grew when she was 13. While watching the TV show America's Next Top Model, she became fascinated by the world of fashion photos. She loved seeing how makeup, cool outfits, and different poses could create amazing pictures. Amazingly, Otero taught herself everything she knows about photography.
Photography Career
Otero often uses a Pentax K-5 camera for her work. She specializes in taking close-up self-portraits, which allows her to express different ideas and emotions.
First Art Shows
Otero made history in Spain when she had her first solo art show at just 15 years old. A solo show, or exhibition, is when a gallery displays the work of only one artist.
Her powerful portraits have been shown in galleries all over Spain.
- Valencia: Her work was at the Kir Royal Gallery from October 2011 to January 2012.
- Madrid: She had an exhibition at the Fnac Parquesur store in March 2012.
- Barcelona: Another show ran at the Fnac L'illa store from July to September 2012.
She also had her art shown in Carlet, Valencia (2012) and Marbella (2013).
International Recognition
Otero's fame quickly spread beyond Spain. Her photographs have been exhibited in other major European cities. These include Amsterdam in the Netherlands (2012) and Berlin in Germany (2012). Her work was also shown in Algiers, the capital of Algeria, in 2013.
She also worked on an advertising campaign for Renfe, Spain's national train company. In 2022, she was chosen to be a judge for the IStock Awards, which supports photographers from around the world.
