Cristina Urgel García (born 5 April 1979) is a Spanish actress and TV presenter. She is well-known for her role as Patricia O’Farrell in the TV series La Reina del Sur.

Her Early Life and Education

Cristina Urgel García was born on 5 April 1979 in Soria, Spain. She grew up in Logroño, which is in the nearby region of La Rioja. She went to school at IES Mateo Sagasta. When she was 17, Cristina took part in the Miss Spain competition in 1997, representing Soria.

After high school, she studied Law at the University of La Rioja. Once she finished her degree, she moved to Madrid. There, she trained to become an actress at the La Barraca School, taught by Alicia Hermida.

Starting Her Acting Career

Cristina began her acting journey with smaller roles in popular TV series. She appeared in shows like El comisario and Ana y los 7. Later, she got a main role in El auténtico Rodrigo Leal [es]. This show was a Spanish version of a Colombian TV series.

Becoming a TV Presenter

Besides acting, Cristina also worked as a TV presenter. From 2004 to 2005, she presented shows for MTV Spain. In 2005, she was part of El Grand Prix del verano, a popular summer game show. She also presented Adivina quién viene a cenar.

Later, she joined other TV shows as a helper or collaborator. In 2009, she worked on La Sexta's Sé lo que hicisteis.... From 2009 to 2010, she was on Cuatro's Vaya tropa [es].

Famous Acting Roles

In 2011, Cristina Urgel became very well-known for her role in La Reina del Sur. She played Patricia O'Farrell, a smart and cultured friend of the main character, Teresa Mendoza.

After this, she appeared in other TV series like Bandolera and Ciega a citas. In 2014, she had a small part in two episodes of La que se avecina. After these roles, Cristina took a break from acting for a few years. During this time, she briefly worked on shows like Amigas y conocidas [es] and the comedy show Dani&Flo [es] in 2017.

What She's Doing Now

Cristina returned to acting in 2020. She joined the cast of the long-running TV series El secreto de Puente Viejo.
