Cristy Fermin's Career Journey
Cristy Fermin started her career as a journalist who wrote about politics. Soon after, she began writing for newspapers that focused on movie stars and famous people. Her first time on television was in 1987. She became the main host of a weekend talk show called Movie Magazine on GMA Network.
In 1992, ABS-CBN asked Cristy to host their Sunday talk show, Showbiz Lingo. She hosted this show with Butch Francisco. Even though she was hosting Movie Magazine on Saturdays, her new role on Showbiz Lingo did not cause any problems.
By 1994, Cristy decided to leave Movie Magazine and GMA Network. She signed a special contract with ABS-CBN. Because of her popularity, ABS-CBN gave her a daily talk show called Cristy Per Minute, which started in 1995. At this time, she lived in Valenzuela, Metro Manila.
Cristy also hosted another ABS-CBN talk show, S2: Showbiz Sabado. She worked with Edu Manzano and talent manager Alfie Lorenzo on this show. After S2 ended, Cristy joined The Buzz. She was one of the main hosts there, along with Boy Abunda and Kris Aquino.
In 2010, Cristy Fermin moved to TV5. She became one of the main hosts of the weekly showbiz talk show Paparazzi. She was joined by Mo Twister and her former The Buzz co-host, Ruffa Gutierrez. She also co-hosted Juicy! with Alex Gonzaga and IC Mendoza.
On November 8, 2010, Cristy returned to radio. Her entertainment news program, Cristy FerMinute, began airing on Radyo5 92.3 News FM. This radio show is also shown on TV channels like AksyonTV, One PH, and True TV.
In 2012, Paparazzi and Juicy! were cancelled. Cristy then started hosting a new show called Ang Latest on August 4 of the same year.
