Catherine "Alex" Cruz Gonzaga-Morada (born January 16, 1988) is a famous Filipino TV personality. She is a host, comedian, actress, businesswoman, singer, and vlogger. She became very well-known for her main role as Diane Santos in the TV show Pure Love.

Early Life and Family

Alex Gonzaga was born Catherine Cruz Gonzaga on January 16, 1988. Her birthplace is Taytay, Rizal, Philippines. Her parents are Crisanta "Pinty" Cruz and Carlito "Bonoy" Gonzaga. Her father was once the Vice-Mayor of their town. Alex has an older sister, Toni Gonzaga, who is also a popular TV host and actress.

Alex studied at the University of Asia and the Pacific. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Child Development and Education.

Personal Life and Marriage

In November 2016, Alex started dating Mikee Morada. He is a councilor from Lipa, Batangas. On her birthday, January 16, 2020, Alex shared on Instagram that they were engaged. They got married in a private ceremony in November 2020. Alex announced their marriage on her YouTube channel on January 17, 2021.

Alex's Entertainment Career

Starting Out: 2006-2012

Alex Gonzaga began her career in 2006 on the TV network ABS-CBN. Her first show was the sitcom Let's Go!. She played a character named Alex, which later became her own nickname. She stayed on the show for four seasons.

After that, she appeared in other dramas on ABS-CBN. These included Pangarap na Bituin, Your Song, and My Girl.

In 2008, Alex moved to TV5. She became a host for the talk show Juicy!. She also played a main role in the 2011 soap opera Babaeng Hampaslupa. Other shows she did on TV5 were BFGF, P.S. I Love You, and Enchanted Garden.

Becoming a Star: 2013-2019

Alex returned to ABS-CBN in April 2013. She became a co-host for the Philippine version of The Voice. She also hosted the Philippine version of Big Brother for its All In season.

During PBB: All In, Alex entered the house as a celebrity houseguest. She was given the nickname "Sassy Sister ng Rizal". Her task was to keep her houseguest status a secret from the other housemates. After two months, she left the house on June 14, 2014.

Alex then took on a very important role as Diane Santos in the popular drama series Pure Love. This show was a Philippine version of the Korean drama 49 Days. It aired from July to November 2014.

She was also part of the comedy show Banana Split. Alex also appeared in two episodes of the drama series Maalaala Mo Kaya.

In 2014, Alex released her first book, Dear Alex, Break na Kami. Paano? Love Catherine. It was published by ABS-CBN Publishing, Inc.. Fans and critics liked the book for its humor and unique "break-up" theme.

Alex also starred in her first movie with Star Cinema, The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin (2014). This movie was part of the 40th Metro Manila Film Festival. It was very successful and became one of the highest-grossing local films in the Philippines.

In 2015, Alex released her first music album, I Am Alex G., with Star Music. The album's main song was "Panaginip Lang". She had a big launch event for her album and a concert called "AG from the East: The Unexpected Concert" at the Araneta Coliseum.

She also played the main character in the fantasy series Inday Bote. This TV show was based on a classic Filipino film. Alex also hosted the dance competition show Dance Kids with Robi Domingo.

Return to TV5: 2020-2023

After ABS-CBN stopped broadcasting, Alex Gonzaga returned to TV5. She became one of the main hosts of the variety show Lunch Out Loud (Tropang LOL). This show aired from October 2020 to April 2023.

Alex Gonzaga has appeared in many films and television series throughout her career. Some of her notable movies include The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin (2014), Buy Now, Die Later (2015), and Mary, Marry Me (2018). She also starred in Netflix films like Love the Way U Lie (2020) and The Entitled (2022).

On television, besides the shows mentioned earlier, she was a host for ASAP and a "Sing-vestigator" on I Can See Your Voice. She also hosted Pinoy Big Brother: Otso and The Voice Teens.
