A Look at the Museum's History
The Crockett County Museum started in the Ozona school back in 1939. It later moved to its current building in 1958.
What the Building Used to Be
The building where the museum is now has an interesting past! It was built in 1926 and first served as the Ozona Methodist Church. Sadly, the church building burned down in 1942. After that, it was used as a hospital until 1956. Then, it became an annex for the courthouse. Finally, in 1998, the museum began restoring the building to make it its permanent home.
