Croftville is a small, unincorporated community located in Cook County, Minnesota, in the United States. An "unincorporated community" means it's a group of homes or businesses that isn't officially a town or city with its own local government.
This community is found about three miles northeast of the city of Grand Marais. It sits right along Minnesota Highway 61. This highway, along with County Road 87 (also known as Croftville Road), are the main roads that run through the area.
Discovering Croftville's History
Croftville was a busy place in the early 1900s. It was first settled by Peter Olsen and two brothers named Charles and Joe Croft. The community actually got its name from the Croft brothers!
