Crowd Lu Kuang-chung (Chinese: 盧廣仲) is a famous singer, songwriter, and actor from Taiwan. He was born on July 15, 1985. People sometimes call him "Vitas Lu." This is because he once made a funny version of a song by the Russian singer Vitas. Crowd Lu can sing very high notes, just like Vitas!
When he was in his first year at Tamkang University, Crowd Lu had a serious car accident. While he was recovering in the hospital, he started to learn how to play the guitar. The next year, he won top prizes for writing music and performing. He even became a favorite at another big university contest. In 2009, Crowd Lu won awards for Best New Artist and Best Composer at the 20th Golden Melody Awards.

Early Life and Musical Start
Crowd Lu grew up in Tainan, Taiwan. His family loved art and music. His mother collected jazz records from Western countries. This made Lu interested in music from a very young age. He showed his talent early on. He could sing songs by famous artists like Whitney Houston and Michael Jackson after hearing them only a few times.
His grandmother also helped him love music. She enjoyed local Taiwanese TV shows and would sing their theme songs to Lu and his sister to help them fall asleep. This time likely helped him develop his unique, relaxed, and honest style.
After finishing high school in 2003, Lu moved to Taipei to study at Tamkang University. He planned to study electrical engineering. However, because of his car accident, he had to change his major to Spanish Literature.
Crowd Lu's Music Career
In his first year at Tamkang University, Crowd Lu was hit by a bus. He was badly hurt in both legs. He spent months in the hospital recovering. During this time, he picked up a guitar and started writing his own songs.
The next year, Lu won first place for his music and singing at a contest at Tamkang University. He then won again at a similar contest at National Chengchi University. A well-known music producer named Zhong Cheng Hu noticed Lu's talent. Together, they released three songs. One of them, "Good Morning, Beautiful Dawn!", was named one of Taiwan's Top Ten Singles in 2007. Just by people talking about his music, Lu sold 15,000 CDs of his songs!
From late 2006, Crowd Lu toured all over Taiwan for more than a year. He performed in many places, from small diners to big universities. He gained a huge number of fans, especially among university students.
In 2008, Lu finished his tour after performing 100 concerts. On May 25, he released his first CD called 100 Ways of Living. This album was full of honest songs about everyday life. 100 Ways of Living quickly became very popular. It even changed the music scene in Asia, which was mostly focused on Mando-pop music. Just 88 days after his first CD came out, Crowd Lu had his very first official concert on August 23, 2008.
In 2009, two of Lu's albums, Seven Days (七天) and Live in Taipei International Convention Center (TICC), were named among the Top 10 Selling Mandarin Albums of the Year in Hong Kong. Crowd Lu also sang the theme song for the movie Your Name Engraved Herein. This song won the Best Original Film Song award at Taiwan's Golden Horse Film Festival and Awards. As of July 2025, the music video for this song has been watched over 58 million times on YouTube!
