Crowley's Ridge State Park is a cool state park in Greene County, Arkansas. It covers about 291 acres. The park sits on top of a special landform called Crowley's Ridge.

This park was once the home of an early pioneer named Benjamin Crowley. You can see many great examples of work done by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) here. The CCC was a group that helped build parks in the 1930s. Crowley's Ridge State Park is one of Arkansas's most popular state parks. A road called Crowley's Ridge Parkway goes right through it. This road is a National Scenic Byway, which means it's a very pretty drive. The park was created in 1933 to honor Benjamin Crowley and the history of the area.

Crowley's Ridge State Park has lots of fun activities for visitors. The park was built in the 1930s by the Civilian Conservation Corps. They used local stone and logs, giving the park a rustic and natural feel.

Fishing and Swimming Lakes

The park has a 31-acre fishing lake called Lake Ponder. The Arkansas National Guard first built this lake. The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission keeps it stocked with fish. You can catch channel catfish and largemouth bass here.

There's also a 3-acre swimming lake. This lake is fed by a natural spring. It's one of the most popular swimming spots in all of Arkansas!

Places to Stay and Eat

If you want to stay overnight, the park has modern cabins. These cabins come with kitchens, so you can cook your own meals. There are also picnic areas if you just want to have a meal outdoors.

The park has a dining hall and a snack bar. These are great places to grab a bite to eat. The park can even host groups of up to 60 people. They have five bunk cabins and four modern duplex-style cabins. There are also 18 Class B campsites and 8 tent sites for camping.

Historic Buildings at the Park

Many buildings in Crowley's Ridge State Park are very old and important. They are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. This means they are recognized for their historical value.

The bathhouse, bridge, comfort station, and dining hall are all special. They show the amazing work done by the Civilian Conservation Corps. These buildings are examples of how parks were built a long time ago.
