Cull, Missouri facts for kids
Cull is a small, quiet place in eastern Howell County, Missouri. It's what's called an "unincorporated community." This means it's a settlement that doesn't have its own local government, like a city or town does. Instead, it's part of the larger county. Cull is located on a county road, just south of U.S. Route 160. It's about nine miles east of a bigger town called West Plains. The community is also quite close to the eastern edge of Howell County. Just two miles to the east, in Oregon County, you'll find another small community called Rover.
The Story of Cull
How Cull Got Its Name
The community of Cull once had its own post office. This post office first opened its doors in 1899. It served the local residents for many years before it finally closed down in 1936. The community itself was named after a person named David W. Cull. He was important because he helped the town get its very own post office.
