History of Cupar Station
When the Station Opened
Cupar station first opened a long time ago, in 1847. It was built by a company called the Edinburgh and Northern Railway. At first, it was the temporary end of the train line. This line went along the Fife Coast towards Tayport.
Connecting to Dundee
The train line was fully finished to Tayport in 1850. From Tayport, people could take a ferry across the water to Dundee. Later, in 1878, trains could go directly to Dundee. This happened when the first Tay Bridge was completed.
