Curious Buddies is a series of special videos made by Nickelodeon. These videos were released directly to homes. They came out between August 31, 2004, and April 12, 2005. The series was created for very young children, like babies and toddlers. It even won a Parents' Choice Award in the spring of 2005!
What is Curious Buddies About?
The show features five friendly puppet animals. They explore the world around them. Real children also appear in the videos. The series uses lots of happy music to make learning fun. Each video is about 21 minutes long.
Meet the Curious Buddies!
The main characters are five unique puppet animals. They each have their own special traits:
- Dog – This puppet is a green dog with floppy ears. He is the first one to appear in each episode.
- Pig – An orange pig who is best friends with Bear.
- Cat – A pink cat who is Dog's best friend. She moves slowly and carefully.
- Bear – A purple bear who enjoys making loud roaring sounds.
- Elephant – A blue elephant who sometimes joins the other four on their adventures.
Adventures of the Curious Buddies
Seven different videos were made for the Curious Buddies series. Each video was released as its own DVD.
- "Look and Listen at the Park" (Released: August 31, 2004) – The puppets visit a park. They play games like peek-a-boo. They also bounce a ball and smell flowers.
- "Exploring at the Beach" (Released: August 31, 2004) – The four main puppets go to the beach. They listen to the ocean waves. They also find sea creatures while playing in the sand.
- "Helping at Home" (Released: August 31, 2004) – The four puppets help a real family. They assist with different chores around the house.
- "Let's Move!" (Released: April 12, 2005) – The puppets discover different kinds of music. They also learn about various dance moves.
- "Let's Build!" (Released: April 12, 2005) – The four puppets watch construction vehicles. They see how big machines work. Then, they build their own creations using blocks.
- "Let's Make Music!" (Released: April 12, 2005) – The puppets try out different musical instruments. They learn how to create their own music.
- "Let’s Go To The Farm!" (Released: April 12, 2005) – The puppets explore a local farm together. They discover what a farm is like.
