Story of Curly Sue
The movie is about a young girl named Curly Sue and her guardian, Bill Dancer. They are homeless but always look out for each other. They move around, trying to find ways to get by. Bill often pretends to get hit by cars to get money. This is how they meet Grey Ellison, a rich and busy lawyer.
Meeting Grey Ellison
One day, Bill tries his trick on Grey's car. He pretends she hit him. Grey feels bad and offers them money. Later, Bill tries the trick again, but this time Grey actually hits him. She feels very guilty. She offers to let them stay at her fancy apartment.
Life in the City
Curly Sue and Bill move into Grey's home. It's a big change from their usual life. Curly Sue is very smart and funny. She quickly makes friends with Grey. Bill and Grey also start to get to know each other better. They learn about each other's lives.
