Cristóbal Emilio "Curro" Torres Ruiz (born on December 27, 1976) is a Spanish former footballer. He played as a right-back. Today, he is the manager for the Meistriliiga club Levadia Tallinn.
During his playing career, Curro Torres mostly played for Valencia. He helped them win two La Liga championships. He played 119 matches in the top league and scored one goal. He also helped Valencia win the 2004 UEFA Cup. He played for the Spanish national team in the 2002 World Cup.
After retiring as a player, Torres started coaching in 2014. He spent three years managing Valencia B. He has also managed several other teams in Spain, Croatia, and Estonia.

Early Life and Background
Curro Torres was born in Ahlen, North Rhine-Westphalia, West Germany. His parents came from Granada, Spain. They had moved to Germany for work. When Curro was a baby, his family moved back to Spain. They settled in Catalonia.
Playing Career Highlights
Curro Torres started his football journey with UDA Gramenet. In 1997, he joined Valencia CF. He played for Valencia's B team for two seasons.
Loan Spells and Promotion
Valencia loaned him to Recreativo de Huelva and CD Tenerife. At Tenerife, he was a key player. His team, coached by Rafael Benítez, won promotion to La Liga in the 2000–01 season.
Success with Valencia
After his loans, Torres returned to Valencia. He became a very important player for the team. Under coach Benítez, Valencia won the Spanish league title twice. They also won the 2003–04 UEFA Cup. Curro scored his only goal in the top league on May 2, 2004. It was in a 2–0 home win against Real Betis.
Later Career and Injuries
From 2005, Curro Torres faced many injuries. These injuries made it hard for him to play regularly. In the 2006–07 season, he played 17 games. He sometimes played as a left-back.
For the 2007–08 season, he was loaned to Real Murcia CF. But his injury problems continued, and he only played two league games. He left Valencia in May 2009.
In July 2009, Torres joined Gimnàstic de Tarragona in the Segunda División. However, he did not play any matches during the 2009–10 season. His contract was cancelled in January 2010.
International Appearances
Curro Torres played well for Valencia, which led to him playing for Spain. He made his debut for the Spanish national team on November 14, 2001. It was a friendly match against Mexico, which Spain won 1–0.
He was part of the Spanish squad for the 2002 FIFA World Cup. He played in one match, a 3–2 victory against South Africa in the group stage.
Coaching and Management
Curro Torres started his coaching career on April 7, 2014. He returned to Valencia to manage their reserve team, Valencia B. In 2017, he led them to the final round of the play-offs.
Managing Different Clubs
On July 2, 2017, Torres became the manager of Lorca FC. He was later sacked on December 17, 2017.
In September 2018, he took charge of NK Istra 1961 in Croatia. He left the club after only one month. In November, he became the manager of Córdoba CF. He was dismissed in February 2019.
On December 27, 2019, Torres was named manager of CD Lugo. He was relieved of his duties six months later. In December 2021, he replaced the manager at Cultural y Deportiva Leonesa. His contract was not renewed after June 2022.
Current Role at Levadia
On November 11, 2022, Curro Torres signed a two-year deal with FCI Levadia Tallinn in Estonia. His first game was a goalless draw on March 5, 2023.
In 2024, he led his team to win both the Meistriliiga (the league title) and the Estonian Cup. This is known as winning the "double." In the cup final, they beat Paide Linnameeskond 4–2.
