Curtis Perry's Early Life and College Career
Curtis Perry went to Southwest Missouri State University, which is now called Missouri State. While playing for the Missouri State basketball team, he helped them achieve an amazing record. The team won 28 games in a row, which was the most wins in the school's history at that time.
Starting His Professional Basketball Journey
In 1970, Curtis Perry was chosen by two different professional basketball leagues. The San Diego Rockets picked him in the third round of the 1970 NBA draft for the NBA. He was also drafted by the Virginia Squires for the American Basketball Association.
Playing in the NBA: Teams and Achievements
Curtis Perry played for several teams in the NBA during his career. He started with the San Diego / Houston Rockets from 1970 to 1971. He then played for the Milwaukee Bucks from 1971 to 1974. His last team was the Phoenix Suns, where he played from 1974 to 1978.
During his first year with the San Diego Rockets, he briefly played for another league's team, the Northwest Travellers, before returning to the Rockets.
Helping Teams Win Championships
Curtis Perry was a key player in helping his teams succeed. With the Milwaukee Bucks, he helped them win the NBA Midwest Division titles in 1971–72 and 1972–73. He also helped the Bucks win the NBA Western Conference championship in 1973–74.
Later, with the Phoenix Suns, he contributed to their victory in the 1975–76 NBA Western Conference championship.

On February 15, 1975, Curtis Perry had a fantastic game against the Atlanta Hawks. He scored 26 points and grabbed 22 rebounds, which was the most rebounds he ever got in a single game.
He was also an important player in a famous game during the 1976 Finals. This game is often called "the greatest game ever played" in NBA history because it was so exciting and went into triple overtime.
