Byron Dwight Houston (born November 22, 1969) is an American former professional basketball player. He was a strong power forward, standing 6 feet 5 inches tall and weighing 250 pounds. Byron played college basketball for Oklahoma State University. He was chosen by the Chicago Bulls in the first round of the 1992 NBA draft.

Byron Houston played four seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA). He was part of the Golden State Warriors, Seattle SuperSonics, and Sacramento Kings. After his time in the NBA, he played in other leagues around the world. He even won the Most Valuable Player award in the Continental Basketball Association (CBA) Finals in 1998.

Byron Houston was born on November 22, 1969. He grew up in Watonga, Oklahoma. He went to Star Spencer High School in Spencer, Oklahoma. There, he became a talented basketball player.

After high school, Byron played college basketball for Oklahoma State University. He played for the Oklahoma State Cowboys from 1988 to 1992. He was a standout player during his college years. In 1991, he was named the Big Eight Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Year. He was also chosen for the First-team All-Big Eight three times.

NBA Career Highlights

In 1992, Byron Houston was drafted into the NBA. The Chicago Bulls picked him as the 27th overall choice. He then played for several NBA teams. His first team was the Golden State Warriors, where he played from 1992 to 1993.

Key Games and Moments

During the 1993-94 playoff series, Byron Houston played for the Golden State Warriors. In Game 3 against the Phoenix Suns, his coach, Don Nelson, gave him a tough job. Byron was one of the main players assigned to guard the famous player Charles Barkley. Even though Barkley scored 56 points, Coach Nelson trusted Byron and other players to handle the challenge.

After his time with the Warriors, Byron played for the Seattle SuperSonics in 1994. He then joined the Sacramento Kings in 1995. These were his last teams in the NBA.
