Cusco Province is a cool place in southern Peru. It is the smallest of the thirteen provinces in the Cusco Region. Its capital city is Cusco, which is super famous for its history and amazing old buildings.
How Cusco Province is Organized
Cusco Province is divided into eight smaller areas called districts. Think of districts like neighborhoods or smaller towns within a bigger area. Each district has its own leader, called a mayor (or alcalde in Spanish). The mayor helps run things in their district.
Here are the eight districts in Cusco Province, along with their main towns:
- Ccorca (Ccorca)
- Cusco (Cusco)
- Poroy (Poroy)
- San Jerónimo (San Jerónimo)
- San Sebastián (San Sebastián)
- Santiago (Santiago)
- Saylla (Saylla)
- Wanchaq (Wanchaq)
