Balsamorhiza macrophylla (cutleaf balsamroot) is a North American species of plants in the sunflower tribe within the aster family. It is native to the northwestern United States, in Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Utah, and Oregon.
Balsamorhiza macrophylla is an herb up to 100 cm (40 inches) tall. It has yellow flower heads, usually borne one at a time, with both ray florets and disc florets. The species grows in sagebrush scrublands and conifer forests.
