Cutler is a small, unincorporated community located in Democrat Township, Carroll County, Indiana, in the United States. It is part of the larger Lafayette Metropolitan Statistical Area. An "unincorporated community" means it's a place where people live, but it doesn't have its own local government like a city or town. Instead, it's governed by the county.
The Story of Cutler
Cutler was first planned out around 1871 by a man named John A. Cook. This happened during the time when the Logansport Crawfordsville & Southwestern Rail Road was being built. It's believed that Cook named the community after William P. Cutler, who was likely in charge of the railroad construction.
The first post office in Cutler opened its doors in 1873. This meant people living there could send and receive mail more easily.
