Cyril Garrett Neville, born on October 10, 1948, is a talented American musician. He plays percussion and sings. Cyril first became well-known as a member of The Meters, a funky band from New Orleans led by his brother, Art Neville. Later, he joined his brother Art in the famous band, The Neville Brothers.

Cyril Neville was featured in a movie called Make It Funky! in 2005. This film explored the history of New Orleans music. Life After Hurricane Katrina
After Hurricane Katrina in 2005, Cyril Neville moved to Austin, Texas. However, by 2012, he had moved back to Slidell, Louisiana. He was a special guest on the Soul Rebels Brass Band's album, Unlock Your Mind, which came out in 2012. Cyril actually came up with the name "Soul Rebels" for the band!
Joining Galactic and Royal Southern Brotherhood
In 2010, Cyril Neville joined the popular New Orleans funk band Galactic. He toured all over the world with them. In 2012, Cyril also helped form a blues-rock supergroup called Royal Southern Brotherhood. This band included Devon Allman, who is the son of Gregg Allman from The Allman Brothers Band, along with other talented musicians.

Grammy Awards with The Neville Brothers
As a member of The Neville Brothers, Cyril won a Grammy Award for Best Pop Instrumental Performance in 1989 for their song "Healing Chant." The band was also nominated for a Grammy in 1996 for their song "Fire on the Mountain." In 1999, their album Valence Street was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Traditional R&B Vocal Performance.
