Many people know him for his work on the song "It Was a Good Day" by Ice Cube in 1993. This song is still very popular in hip hop music.
DJ Pooh was also part of two music groups: Uncle Jamm's Army and L.A. Posse. As a recording artist, he released his first album, Bad Newz Travels Fast, in 1997. It was released by Big Beat Records, which is part of Atlantic Records. This album even appeared on the Billboard 200 music chart.
