About Big Pooh
Big Pooh got his start with ABB Records. Many big music labels wanted to sign him. He chose to sign with Atlantic Records because ABB Records thought it was the best choice for everyone. His contract with Atlantic ended in 2007.
In January 2007, a co-founder and producer of Little Brother, 9th Wonder, left the group. Pooh said in an interview that there were "no hard feelings." He explained that it was a decision for all three of them to move forward. They wanted to keep making great music.
Pooh was part of a free online music collection called And Justus for All. This collection was released on February 13, 2007. DJ Mick Boogie mixed the songs for it.
In 2009, Big Pooh released a new album called The Delightful Bars. There were four slightly different versions of this album. One special version for iTunes had 13 songs. Each song had different artwork showing a model with candy. The music video for the song "The Comeback" showed Pooh in a kitchen. He was surrounded by women making and packaging "Delightful Bars" candy bars.
In January 2014, Pooh signed a deal for two albums with Mello Music Group. This is an independent record label. Other artists like Oddisee and Kenn Starr are also on this label. The first album from this deal was produced entirely by Virginia producer Nottz. The second project was a shorter album (EP) produced by other artists from the label.
Pooh finished high school at South Lakes High School in Reston, Virginia in 1998.
