Samuel Bouriah, known as DJ Sammy, is a famous DJ and music producer from Spain. He was born on October 19, 1969. DJ Sammy has released five music albums and created five songs that became top-10 hits. One of his most famous songs is his cover of "Heaven" by Bryan Adams, which became number one in the UK in 2002. He started his music journey with Marie-José van der Kolk, who later became his wife, releasing early songs as DJ Sammy featuring Carisma.

DJ Sammy's Music Journey
DJ Sammy began his music career in 1984. He started by playing music in pubs and dance clubs in Mallorca, Spain. During this time, he also learned how to be a sound technician at the Mallorca Music College.
In 1991, he met a dancer named Marie-José van der Kolk. They performed together at a club called Zorba's in Palma. The next year, in 1992, DJ Sammy became the main DJ at the Joy Palace Club in Arenal, and Marie Jose was a dancer there.
First Songs and Albums
In November 1995, DJ Sammy released his first song, "Life Is Just a Game". Marie-José started singing on this track. The song became one of the top 10 hits in Spain. Other songs like "You're My Angel" and "Prince of Love" also became popular in Germany.
In June 1998, DJ Sammy released his first album, also called Life Is Just a Game.
Creating His Own Music Label
DJ Sammy decided to create his own music company, called Super M Records. He also started the Gamba Music Company.
In 2002, Sammy released his album Heaven. This album included popular songs like "Sunlight" and two famous cover songs. A cover song is when an artist sings a song that was originally made famous by someone else. He covered Bryan Adams' "Heaven" with a singer named Do. He also covered Don Henley's "The Boys of Summer".
In 2005, his next album was The Rise. This album featured songs like "Rise Again", which was used in the 2004 movie It's All Gone Pete Tong. He also covered Annie Lennox's song "Why".
Working with Other Artists
DJ Sammy has worked with many other famous musicians. In 2007, he helped remix a song called "Tired of Being Sorry" for Enrique Iglesias. After this, he produced and helped write a song called "Superstar" for Marta Sánchez in April 2007. He also wrote and produced a song for David Bisbal's album Premonición and worked on Soraya Arnelas' album Sin Miedo.
He traveled around the world with his "Balearic Masters" tour starting in late 2007. He brought along a singer named Nyah, who sang on his songs "Everybody Hurts", "Feel the Love", "Animal", and "Look for Love".
In June 2013, Sammy released the song "Shut Up and Kiss Me" with singers called The Jackie Boyz. The music video for this song was directed by Mark Feuerstake.
More recently, in July 2020, Sammy released a song called "This Is Who We Are" with an Australian singer named Chloe Martin.
