Daishiro Yoshimura (born August 16, 1947 – died November 1, 2003) was a famous Japanese football player and manager. His original name was Nelson Yoshimura. He was born in Brazil but later became a Japanese citizen in 1970. He played as a Midfielder for the Japanese national team.

Playing for Clubs
Yoshimura was born in São Paulo, Brazil. In 1967, he moved to Japan and joined a football club called Yanmar Diesel. He played alongside other great players like Kunishige Kamamoto. Together, they helped Yanmar Diesel become one of the best teams in its history.
During his time with the club, they won the Japan Soccer League championship four times. They also won the Emperor's Cup three times. Yoshimura played 189 games for the club and scored 30 goals. He was chosen as one of the "Best Eleven" players in the league four times. He stopped playing football in 1980.
Playing for the National Team
Daishiro Yoshimura first played for the Japanese national team on August 2, 1970. His first game was against South Korea.
He represented Japan in several important tournaments. He played in the 1974 Asian Games. He also took part in qualifying matches for the 1972 Summer Olympics, the 1974 FIFA World Cup, and the 1976 Summer Olympics. He played a total of 46 games for Japan and scored 7 goals before he stopped playing for the national team in 1976.
Becoming a Coach
After he stopped playing, Yoshimura became a coach for his old club, Yanmar Diesel, in 1981. He worked as a coach for several years. In 1990, he became the main manager of the team. He managed the club until 1993.
Sadly, Daishiro Yoshimura passed away on November 1, 2003, in Amagasaki, Japan. He was 56 years old. In 2010, he was honored for his contributions to Japanese football and was added to the Japan Football Hall of Fame.
