Dalaman is a town and a district in the Muğla Province of Turkey. It is located on the southwestern coast of Turkey. Dalaman covers an area of 608 square kilometers. In 2022, about 47,482 people lived there.
The Dalaman Stream (Dalaman çayı) makes up much of the western border of the district. The town of Dalaman is on a flat area near the coast. However, other parts of the district are higher up, with mountains and valleys.

Dalaman Airport: A Gateway to Tourism
Dalaman Airport is very important for tourists visiting this part of Turkey. Many people fly here to reach popular seaside resorts. These resorts include places like Marmaris, Fethiye, Köyceğiz, Dalyan, and Ölüdeniz.
Dalaman Airport (airport codes: DLM, LTBS) is smaller than some other airports in Turkey. It has space for 14 jet airplanes. Many airlines use this airport. Turkish Airlines offers daily flights to Istanbul, which is a major city in Turkey. Other airlines, like Pegasus Airlines and Free Bird Airlines, use Dalaman as a base during busy travel seasons. A new international terminal has also been built recently.
Dalaman's Climate
Dalaman has a hot Mediterranean climate. This means that summers are long and dry, with lots of sunshine. Winters are short and cool, but not usually very cold. Dalaman is a very sunny place throughout the year, especially in June and July. It even holds the record for one of the highest temperatures ever recorded in Turkey!
Education in Dalaman
The district of Dalaman has many schools for young people. There are five kindergartens for the youngest children. For primary education, there are 13 schools. Older students attend one of the ten secondary schools or five high schools. The district also has a public education center and a vocational training center. These centers help people learn new skills for jobs.
