About Dale Craigwell
Dale grew up in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. When he was younger, he loved playing hockey. He even played in the famous Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament in 1984. He was part of a junior team from Oshawa.
Starting His Pro Journey
The San Jose Sharks picked Dale in the 1991 NHL Entry Draft. He was the 199th player chosen overall. This made him one of the first players ever drafted by the Sharks team. Before joining the pros, Dale played for the Oshawa Generals in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). He played there for three years. In his last year with the Generals, he scored an amazing 95 points in 56 games!
Playing in the NHL
The 1991–1992 season was the very first for the San Jose Sharks. Dale was called up to play with them during that year. He played in 32 games and scored 16 points, which was a great start.
In the 1993–1994 season, Dale played for the Sharks full-time. He mostly played in a role where he focused on defending. He scored 9 points that year. The next year, he had an ankle injury. This meant he couldn't play during the entire 1994–1995 season.
After the NHL
After his time with the Sharks, Dale played for the Kansas City Blades. This team was part of the IHL. He played there for three years.
Then, Dale moved to Europe to continue his hockey career. He played for one year in Germany. After that, he spent two years playing in England. Dale retired from professional hockey after the 2000–2001 season.
