History of Dallenwil
Dallenwil has a long history! It was first mentioned in old writings around the years 1199 to 1210. Back then, it had different names like Tellewilare or Telliwilare. Later, in 1850, it was called Thalwyl. The town finally got its current name, Dallenwil, in 1913.
Geography of Dallenwil
Dallenwil covers an area of about 15.5 square kilometers (about 6 square miles). A big part of this land, more than half (53.7%), is used for farming. Forests cover a large portion too, about 38% of the area.
About 4.6% of the land has buildings and roads. The rest, about 3.7%, is made up of natural features like rivers, glaciers, or mountains. The town is located along an old main road that connects Stans to Wolfenschiessen. The town center is built around its parish church.

Getting Around Dallenwil
Dallenwil has its own train station, called Dallenwil station. This station is on the Luzern–Stans–Engelberg line. You can catch a train every half hour to and from Lucerne using the Lucerne S-Bahn S4 service. There's also an hourly train service between Lucerne and Engelberg that stops in Stans.

Dallenwil has some interesting places to visit. You can explore the ski and summer resort called Wiesenberg/Wirzweli. It's a great spot for outdoor activities. Don't miss the beautiful church St. Laurentius and the peaceful pilgrimage chapel Wiesenberg.
