Ennetmoos is a small town, also called a municipality, located in the canton of Nidwalden in Switzerland. It's a lovely place nestled in the heart of Switzerland.

A Look Back in Time
Ennetmoos was first mentioned in old records around 1311 or 1315. That's a long time ago!
The dragon you see on Ennetmoos's coat of arms comes from a famous local story. It's linked to the legend of Strut von Winkelried, a hero from the 13th century. His family's old castle is believed to have been in this area.
Where is Ennetmoos?
Ennetmoos covers an area of about 14.1 square kilometers (about 5.4 square miles). A large part of this land, almost half (47.9%), is used for farming. Another big part (43.9%) is covered by forests.
About 5.7% of the land has buildings or roads, where people live and travel. The remaining small part (2.4%) includes rivers, glaciers, or mountains that aren't used for farming or building.
The municipality includes the main village of Ennetmoos. It also has smaller areas called hamlets. These include St. Jakob, Rohren, Allweg/Grueb, and Rotzloch.
