Dalton is in the southwestern part of Livingston County. Most of it is in the town of Nunda. A smaller part crosses into the town of Portage.
Roads and Travel
New York State Route 70 goes through the northern part of Dalton. This road can take you to Portageville, which is about 6 miles (10 km) northwest. It also leads to Canaseraga, about 11 miles (18 km) southeast.
New York State Route 408 also starts from Route 70. It goes north for about 2.5 miles (4.0 km) to the village of Nunda.
