Nunda is a small village located in Livingston County, New York, United States. It is part of the larger town of Nunda. In 2010, about 1,377 people lived in the village.
History of Nunda
The village of Nunda was officially created in 1839. It was first called "Nunda Valley." In 1852, a big fire damaged part of the village. A year later, in 1853, there was an attempt to make Nunda the main city (county seat) of a new county, but this plan did not work out.
A special building called the Union Block was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1981. This means it is an important historical place that should be protected.

- Commander William Howard Donovan Jr. was from Nunda. He sadly passed away during the 9/11 Pentagon Attack.
Geography of Nunda
Nunda village is in the southwestern part of Livingston County. It is located where two main roads, New York State Routes 408 and 436, meet. The village is about 11 miles southwest of Mount Morris and 14 miles west of Dansville. It is also 17 miles southwest of Geneseo, which is the main city of Livingston County.
The village of Nunda covers about 0.98 square miles (2.5 square kilometers) of land. There are no large bodies of water within the village. Two creeks, Keshequa Creek and Crooked Creek, flow through Nunda. Keshequa Creek eventually flows into the Genesee River.
Once, there was a flood in Nunda because of heavy rains and a problem with the village's water reservoir. This flood damaged the new gymnasium at Keshequa Central School Middle School.
