Damavand Mineral Waters Company is the biggest and most well-known company that sells bottled mineral water in Iran. It works together with the Danone Group from France, which is one of the largest bottled water companies in the world.
In 2010 and 2015, there were some concerns raised by Iran's Health Ministry about the quality of the water. The company had to work to make sure its products met health standards.
History of the Company
The story of Damavand water began in 1973. A famous French company called Perrier teamed up with investors in Iran. Their goal was to build a factory to bottle fresh mineral water.
After setting up all the equipment, they began testing the water in 1977. By 1978, Damavand became the first company to sell bottled mineral water in Iran.
Over the years, the company grew. In 1998, another French company, Group Castel, joined as a partner. Then, in 2006, the famous Danone Group took over. Danone is known for world-famous water brands like EVIAN and VOLVIC.
Today, Damavand is a leader in Iran's water market. It has about 400 employees and seven large warehouses to store and send its products all over the country.
Damavand's Products
Damavand sells its drinks in bottles made from polyethylene terephthalate (PET). This is a type of strong but lightweight plastic that is safe for drinks. The company uses modern machines from Europe to bottle its products.
Here are some of the drinks they make:
- Damavand Mineral Water: Sold in different sizes, like 1.5-liter, 1-liter, and 0.5-liter bottles.
- Sparkling Mineral Water: This is carbonated water, which means it has fizzy bubbles.
- Topsia Soft Drinks: A line of sodas with flavors like cola, orange, lemon, and tropical fruit.
