Dan Biggar is a famous Welsh rugby union player. He was born on October 16, 1989. He plays as a "fly-half," which is a key position in rugby. Currently, he plays for a French team called Toulon. Dan has also played many times for the Welsh national team. He was even chosen twice to play for the special British and Irish Lions team.

Dan Biggar's Early Rugby Days
Dan Biggar grew up in Morriston, Swansea, Wales. He went to Gowerton Comprehensive School. He started playing rugby at a local club called Gorseinon RFC. Later, he played for Swansea RFC.
Starting with the Ospreys
When Dan was just 18, he made his first appearance for the Ospreys team. This was in a big semi-final game at the Millennium Stadium. In September 2008, he started his first game for the Ospreys against Glasgow Warriors. He helped his team win by kicking 9 points, including a long-range drop-goal.
Top Scorer for Ospreys
Dan became a top scorer in the Celtic League. In the 2010–11 season, he scored 248 points. The next season, he scored even more, with 257 points. That year, the Ospreys won the PRO12 Championship. Dan kicked the winning conversion in the Grand Final against Leinster. This kick was from the touchline, which is very difficult!
Moving to Northampton Saints
In 2017, it was announced that Dan would join the English team Northampton Saints for the 2018–19 season. Before leaving the Ospreys, Dan set some amazing records. He was the youngest player to play 100 games for the Ospreys at 22. He was also the youngest to play 200 games at 27. He became the Ospreys' and the Pro14's highest-ever points scorer, with 2203 points.
Dan played his first game for Northampton against his old team, the Ospreys. In his first season with the Saints, they won the Premiership Rugby Cup. They also reached the play-offs in the Premiership for the first time in four years.
Playing in France with Toulon
In October 2022, Dan left Northampton to join Toulon, a top team in France's Top 14 league. In April 2025, Dan announced that he would retire from rugby at the end of the 2024–2025 season.

Playing for Wales
Dan was chosen for the Wales national rugby union team in 2008. He made his first appearance for Wales at just 19 years old against Canada. In January 2010, he was named in the Welsh squad for the 2010 Six Nations Championship.
After a break from the national team, Dan was called back in 2012. This was after he played very well for the Ospreys. He got his chance to play as the main fly-half for Wales in the 2013 Six Nations Championship. He started all five games and helped Wales win the championship. In the final game against England, he scored a drop goal, a conversion, and a penalty.
Dan continued to play well in the 2013–14 season. He started games against Australia and Argentina. He even scored a try against Australia. He also played in the 2014 Six Nations Championship. In June 2014, he played two big games against South Africa. He became the main starting fly-half for Wales during the 2014 Autumn Internationals. Many people praised his great performances, and he was named "man of the match" in a win against South Africa.
Dan played in all of Wales' 2015 Six Nations Championship matches. He scored his first try for Wales against France.
Rugby World Cup Moments
In the 2015 Rugby World Cup, Dan took over the kicking duties. He scored 56 points in the tournament. This included 23 points in Wales' exciting win over England, where he was named "Man of the Match."
On November 12, 2016, Dan played his 50th game for Wales. This was in an Autumn International match against Argentina, which Wales won.
Dan was part of the Wales squad for the 2019 Rugby World Cup. He was the first-choice fly-half and helped Wales reach the semi-finals. In a game against Australia, he kicked the fastest drop-goal in Rugby World Cup history, scoring after only 36 seconds! He missed one game due to a head injury but returned for the quarter-final against France. In that game, he kicked a crucial conversion and the final points to help Wales win 20–19.
Dan was the captain for Wales during the 2022 Six Nations campaign. On February 12, 2022, he played his 100th international game against Scotland.
Dan has a special routine before he kicks goals. Fans call it "The Biggarena," after the famous song "Macarena."
Playing for the British & Irish Lions
In April 2017, Dan was chosen to play for the 2017 British & Irish Lions tour to New Zealand. This is a special team made up of the best players from the UK and Ireland. He played well in the warm-up games. His best game was against the Chiefs, where he kicked perfectly. Even though he played well, he did not get to play in the main test matches against the All Blacks. He scored 35 points in 5 games on that tour.
Dan was chosen for his second British & Irish Lions tour in May 2021. This time, they played against the World Champions, South Africa. Dan played in a warm-up game against Japan and was named "Player of the Match." He scored 16 points in a game against the Sharks. Dan started the first test match on July 24, 2021, which was his first test appearance for the Lions. He scored 14 points and helped the Lions win the first game. He played in the second and third tests as well, but the Lions lost the series. He scored 47 points in 5 games on this tour.
