Daniel A. Haskett (born August 20, 1952) is a talented American animator. He has helped create many of your favorite cartoon characters! He was part of a special group of young animators at Disney in the 1970s. These animators learned from the original masters, often called "Disney's Nine Old Men."

Dan Haskett's Animation Career
Dan Haskett began his exciting career in 1969. He had just graduated from the High School of Art and Design. His very first project was a commercial for a coffee brand called Brim.
Designing Famous Disney Characters
Dan Haskett joined Disney in 1977. He became a key designer for some of Disney's most beloved characters.
- He designed Belle for the movie Beauty and the Beast.
- He also designed Ariel for The Little Mermaid.
- He helped create the adult version of Tod in The Fox and the Hound.
- Dan Haskett even worked on early ideas for Ursula from The Little Mermaid. Some of his ideas for Ursula were inspired by the singer Patti LaBelle. He even thought about giving Ursula hair that looked like fins!

- He was the main designer for Minerva Mink in Steven Spielberg's Animaniacs.
