Danielle Rodrigues Lins, known as Dani Lins, is a famous Brazilian volleyball player. She was born on January 5, 1985, in Recife, Brazil. Dani plays as a setter, which is like the quarterback of a volleyball team. A setter's job is to get the ball to her teammates so they can hit it over the net. She has won many awards and medals for her amazing skills.

Dani Lins helped her country win a gold medal at the FIVB World Grand Prix in Japan in 2009. One of her biggest achievements was becoming an Olympic champion in 2012.

Dani Lins' Volleyball Journey

Dani Lins started her professional volleyball career in Brazil. She played for several different clubs over the years. Each club helped her grow as a player.

Early Club Career

Dani began playing for Finasa/Osasco from 2003 to 2005. After that, she moved to Pinheiros/Blue Life for the 2005–06 season. In 2006, she joined Unilever, another strong team.

Club Achievements

Dani Lins has won many titles with her clubs. She helped her teams win the Brazilian Women's Volleyball Superliga several times. This is the top volleyball league in Brazil.

  • In 2014, her team, SESI-SP, won the South American Club Championship.
  • Later that year, she also won a bronze medal at the FIVB Club World Championship. Her team beat a Swiss club called Voléro Zürich.

Recent Club Teams

Dani continued to play for top clubs in Brazil. She played for Molico Osasco and Hinode Barueri. Currently, she plays for Vôlei Bauru.

Playing for Brazil: The National Team

Dani Lins has been a key player for the Brazilian national team for many years. She played for Brazil from 2009 to 2021.

Early National Team Experience

In 2003, Dani helped Brazil finish fourth in the Pan American Games. She also played in the Women's Pan-American Volleyball Cup that same year.

Becoming Team Captain

On August 1, 2009, the Brazilian national team coach, Zé Roberto, chose Dani to be the team captain. She took over from another famous player, Fofão.

Major Wins with Brazil

  • In 2009, Dani led her team to win the FIVB World Grand Prix.
  • She also won a gold medal at the 2011 Pan American Games in Mexico. She was even named the "Best Setter" at this event!
  • The biggest win came in 2012 when Dani and her team won the gold medal at the 2012 Olympic Games in London. This was a huge moment for her and for Brazil.
  • In 2014, her team won a bronze medal at the World Championship. They beat Italy in a close match.
  • In 2021, Dani Lins and the Brazilian team won a silver medal at the FIVB Nations League.
