Daniela Samulski was a talented swimmer from Germany. She was born on May 31, 1984. Daniela was known for her skills in backstroke, freestyle, and butterfly swimming. She competed in many big events during her career.

Daniela won three medals at the 2009 World Championships. She also swam in the Olympics in 2000 and 2008. Her best Olympic result was finishing fourth in the 4 × 100 meter freestyle relay in 2000. Daniela stopped swimming professionally in early 2011 to focus on her studies. Sadly, Daniela passed away on May 22, 2018, just before her 34th birthday.

Short Course Success

Daniela also did very well in European Short Course Championships. These events are held in shorter pools. She won a gold medal in 2006 for a relay race. She also collected many silver and bronze medals in different events from 2000 to 2009.

Military World Games

In 2007, Daniela competed in the Military World Games. She won a gold medal in the 100 meter freestyle. She also earned two silver medals in the 50 meter butterfly and 50 meter freestyle races.

Life After Swimming

After a successful swimming career, Daniela decided to retire in 2011. She wanted to focus on her education. This shows that she valued learning as much as her sports achievements.
