Daoko (pronounced Dah-oh-koh) is a talented Japanese singer and rapper. She was born in Tokyo, Japan, on March 4, 1997. Her exciting music career began when she was just 15 years old. In 2012, she uploaded a video to a popular Japanese website called Nico Nico Douga, and it quickly caught everyone's attention!

The name Daoko (ダヲコ) was actually her nickname online before she became famous.
Early Career and First Tour
Daoko's first big music tour started on January 15, 2016. She performed at a venue called Tsutaya O-East in Tokyo, Japan. Before that, in 2015, she was nominated for the "Next Break Artist" award at the MTV Video Music Awards Japan. This showed that people were already noticing her unique talent.
Collaborations and Popular Songs
Many other Japanese artists noticed Daoko's amazing skills. One group, m-flo, worked with her to create a song called "IRONY" in 2013. This song was even used as the theme for a movie called Eagle Talon – Beautiful Elliere Deodorant Plus.
Daoko released her very first album, Hyper Girl, on December 5, 2012. It was released through a company called Low High Who? Production. She became even more well-known for her singing in the music video "ME!ME!ME!". This song was put together by TeddyLoid and came out on November 21, 2014.
After releasing her album Dimension on February 4, 2015, Daoko left Low High Who? Production. In 2017, she teamed up with another famous artist, Kenshi Yonezu, to perform the song "Uchiage Hanabi". This song became the theme for the anime movie Fireworks, and it was a huge hit!
Recent Performances
In 2018, Daoko was invited to perform at the 69th NHK Kōhaku Uta Gassen. This is a very famous and important music show in Japan that happens every New Year's Eve. More recently, in 2023, she performed at Cosplay Mania in the Philippines, showing her music to fans around the world.
