Daphne Muriël Deckers, born in Nijmegen, Netherlands, on November 10, 1968, is a famous Dutch television presenter, writer, and sometimes an actress. She started her career in 1989 at RTL-Véronique, which is now RTL 4. She later became the host of Holland's Next Top Model. She took over this role after the second season.
Daphne first worked as a model. Then, she started acting. In 1997, she was in the James Bond movie Tomorrow Never Dies. She also helped present the first season of Big Brother. Today, she writes books for children and books about family life.

Becoming an Author
In 1993, Daphne Deckers started writing columns for Veronicablad. Soon after, she was asked to write a weekly column for a newspaper in Limburg. At the end of 1994, she began writing a weekly column for Viva magazine. In 1999, she collected all these columns into a book called De Echte Deckers.
After her first book, she kept writing a weekly column for the newspaper De Telegraaf. She put these columns into two more books: Opwaartse drukte (2002) and Decksels (2005). Today, she still writes a weekly column for De Telegraaf. She also writes columns for Reader's Digest.
Daphne has published two books about parenting. These books helped her become known as an 'example mother'. She wrote De geboorte van een moeder (The Birth of a Mother) and De geboorte van een gezin (The Birth of a Family). In 2003, her book De geboorte van een gezin was nominated for a special award called the NS Publiekprijs.
Besides writing about raising children, Daphne also writes books for kids. Some of her children's books are De veschrikkelijke ijstaart (The Terrible Ice Cream Cake), De matroos in de doos (The Sailor in the Box), and Marijn in de woestijn (Marijn in the Desert). Her second children's book was even turned into a play in 2007. In 2012, she wrote her first romance novel, Alles is zoals het zou moeten zijn (Everything Is As It Should Be). This novel was made into a movie in 2020. The film Life as It Should Be won the Golden Film award. It was also the third highest-earning Dutch film of 2020.
Personal Life
On July 7, 1999, Daphne Deckers married the famous tennis player Richard Krajicek. They have two children together. On May 21, 2010, she received the Lifetime Achievement Award. This award was for her long and successful career as a model. She is also an ambassador for the Nationaal Fonds Kinderhulp. This organization helps children in need. In 2010, she started her own line of lingerie called TC World of Women.
