Daria Hennadiyivna Bilodid (born 10 October 2000) is a famous Ukrainian judoka. She is known for her amazing skills in judo, a Japanese martial art. Daria has won many big titles in her career.

She has been a world champion two times, in 2018 and 2019. She also won the European championship three times, in 2017, 2019, and 2024. At the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, she earned a bronze medal. Daria was also a junior world champion in 2018 and a junior European champion in 2016.

Her Judo Journey

Daria Bilodid made history when she won her first senior world title in 2018. She was only 17 years old. This made her the youngest senior judo world champion ever! In that competition, she beat many strong opponents. She won the final match by an ippon, which is the highest score in judo. This big win happened at the 2018 World Championships in Baku, Azerbaijan.

She is also the youngest judoka, both male and female, to win two world championships. This shows how talented and dedicated she is to the sport.

In 2021, Daria continued to win medals. She got a bronze medal at the 2021 Judo World Masters in Qatar. A month later, she won a silver medal at the 2021 Judo Grand Slam Tel Aviv in Israel.

Daria won her first Olympic medal at the 2020 Summer Olympics. She earned a bronze medal by defeating Shira Rishony from Israel. This was a very special moment for Ukraine, as it was their first Olympic medal in women's judo.

She also competed at the 2024 Olympics in Paris. There, she won a match against Nera Tiebwa, a young judoka from Kiribati.

About Daria's Family

Daria Bilodid comes from a family of judokas. Her father, Gennadiy Bilodid, is also a well-known judoka. He has won the European championship two times himself. It's clear that Daria learned a lot from her father's experience.

Awards and Recognition

Daria has received many special awards for her achievements:

  • Guinness World Records: She was recognized as the youngest female judo world champion in 2018.
  • European Judo Union: She was named the Best European Junior Female Judoka in 2018.
  • Member 3rd Class of the Order of Princess Olga (2019): This is an important award from Ukraine.
  • Forbes Ukraine: She was featured in their "30 under 30: Faces of the Future" list in 2020.
  • IJF: She was named the Best Female Judoka of the Year in 2020.
  • Member 2nd Class of the Order of Princess Olga (2021): She received an even higher class of this Ukrainian award.
