Daria has won one singles title and three doubles titles on the WTA Tour. She also won four singles and two doubles titles on the lower-level ITF Circuit. As a junior player, she was very successful. Daria has beaten many top players in her career, including former Grand Slam champions like Maria Sharapova and Angelique Kerber.

2010: Becoming a Top Junior Player

In 2010, Daria played for Russia at the first-ever Youth Olympic Games in Singapore. Even though she wasn't a top seed, she played really well and reached the gold medal match. She beat several strong players, including the top seed, Elina Svitolina. In the final, she came back after losing the first set to win the gold medal. After this big win, Daria became the number one junior tennis player in the world.

Later that year, she played in the junior event at the US Open. As the top seed, she won the tournament, beating fellow Russian Yulia Putintseva in the final. She also played in the doubles event with Irina Khromacheva, reaching the semifinals. Her success in junior tennis earned her a chance to play in a professional WTA event in Moscow, her hometown. She lost her first professional match but finished the year as the No. 1 junior player.

2011-2013: Starting Professional Tennis

In 2011, Daria started playing more on the ITF Women's Circuit, which is a step below the main WTA Tour. She reached her first professional final in Moscow and later won her first professional title in Antalya, Turkey. By the end of 2011, she was ranked No. 383 in the world.

In 2012, Daria won her first professional doubles title in Switzerland. She also won the junior doubles title at the French Open with Irina Khromacheva. Later that year, she qualified for her first main WTA Tour event. She even beat a top-ranked player, Yanina Wickmayer, which was a big win for her.

Daria made her Grand Slam debut at the Australian Open in 2013. She qualified for the main draw and won her first match, reaching the second round. She also got to play against the famous Serena Williams at a big tournament in Qatar. Sadly, Daria had to have knee surgery in October 2013, which ended her season early.

After her knee surgery, Daria returned to playing in July 2014. She won a doubles title at an ITF event in California. In September, she qualified for the Pan Pacific Open and reached the second round. She also won her second professional singles title in Bangkok, Thailand. At the end of 2014, Daria won a special playoff to earn a spot in the main draw of the 2015 Australian Open.

The year 2015 was a breakthrough for Daria. She won two big ITF titles in Australia back-to-back. At the Miami Open, she had a huge win against world No. 2, Maria Sharapova. This was her first victory over a top-ten player! She then reached the fourth round of that tournament. A few months later, at the Italian Open, she beat another top-ten player, Ana Ivanovic. Daria then made it to her first WTA Tour semifinal at that event.

2016-2017: Winning Titles and Reaching Top 20

Daria started 2016 by winning the 2016 Hopman Cup for Australia with Nick Kyrgios. This was a big team event win for her country. At the Australian Open, she reached the fourth round, which was her best Grand Slam result at the time. She continued to play well, reaching quarterfinals and semifinals at other big tournaments. In October, she reached her first WTA Premier final in Moscow for both singles and doubles.

In 2017, Daria again reached the fourth round of the Australian Open. In August, she won her first WTA Tour singles title at the Connecticut Open. She beat Dominika Cibulková in a tough three-set final. This win helped her reach her career-high ranking of world No. 20.

2019-2021: Dealing with Injuries

The year 2019 was tough for Daria due to injuries. She struggled to win matches and had to retire from a French Open match because of a thigh injury. She didn't play any more tournaments that season and her ranking dropped.

In 2020, Daria missed the Australian Open because she was recovering from an achilles tendon injury. She returned later in the year and got a good win at the French Open. In 2021, she had to have surgery on her achilles tendon again. She made a comeback at the end of the year, playing for Australia in the Billie Jean King Cup.

2022: Big Comeback and Another Injury

Daria started 2022 with a lower ranking but quickly showed her fighting spirit. At the Abierto Zapopan, she beat the reigning US Open champion, Emma Raducanu. She then had a fantastic run at the Indian Wells Open, beating a top-10 player, Ons Jabeur. The next week, at the Miami Open, she reached the quarterfinals. This was a huge achievement, as she was the lowest-ranked player ever to reach the Miami quarterfinals!

Her strong performances helped her return to the top 100 rankings. She continued her great form at the Washington Open, reaching the semifinals and beating world No. 7, Jessica Pegula. Sadly, her comeback was cut short when she tore her ACL (a knee ligament) at the Pan Pacific Open in Tokyo. She had to have surgery again.

2023-2024: Returning to Tour Again

Saville returned to playing tennis at Wimbledon in 2023 after her ACL injury. Her match was interrupted by a protester, which she later said made it hard for her to focus. She then reached the semifinals at a tournament in Hamburg, Germany. At the US Open, she won her first match before losing to the top seed, Iga Swiatek.
