Darryl Drake (born December 11, 1956 – died August 11, 2019) was a well-known American football player and coach. He worked in football for over 40 years! He was famous for coaching wide receivers for big teams like the Chicago Bears, Arizona Cardinals, and Pittsburgh Steelers in the National Football League (NFL).

Playing Football in College
Darryl Drake played college football at Western Kentucky University. He was a wide receiver from 1975 to 1978. This means he caught passes from the quarterback.
Playing Football as a Pro
After college, Drake played professional football. He was still a wide receiver. He played for three different teams. In 1979, he played for the Washington Redskins. In 1981, he joined the Ottawa Rough Riders. Then, in 1983, he played for the Cincinnati Bengals.
Coaching Football Teams
Darryl Drake spent 21 years coaching college football teams. He then moved on to coach in the NFL.
Coaching the Chicago Bears
On February 6, 2004, Drake joined the Chicago Bears coaching staff. He worked as their wide receivers coach. He stayed with the Bears until January 17, 2013.

After leaving the Bears, Drake coached for the Arizona Cardinals. He spent five seasons helping their wide receivers.
