Daryl Tyrone Wren, born on January 25, 1967, is a former American football player. He played as a defensive back in the National Football League (NFL). He spent two seasons with the New England Patriots. The Buffalo Bills chose him in the 1991 NFL draft. This was after he played college football at Pittsburg State University.

Early Life
Daryl Tyrone Wren was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on January 25, 1967. He grew up in Tulsa and went to Will Rogers High School there.
College Football Career
Wren played for the Pittsburg State Gorillas football team. He was part of the team from 1986 to 1990. He earned a "letterman" title in 1986, 1988, 1989, and 1990. This means he was a key player on the team.
In 1987, he was on the Gorillas' 4 × 100 metres relay team. This team won a national title in the NAIA.
College Achievements
As a junior in 1989, he was named first-team All-MIAA. This is a big honor for college players. In his senior year (1990), he had 47 tackles. He also made four interceptions and broke up ten passes. For his great play, he was again named first-team All-MIAA.
During his college career, Wren set a school record. He had 13 interceptions in regular season games. He also had five interceptions in postseason games.
Professional Football Career
The Buffalo Bills picked Daryl Wren in the 1991 NFL draft. He was the 82nd player chosen overall. He signed with the Bills on July 13, 1991.
However, he was placed on injured reserve on August 26, 1991. This meant he missed the entire 1991 season. He also missed the 1992 season due to injury. The Bills released him on August 30, 1993.
Playing for the Patriots
The New England Patriots then claimed Wren on August 31, 1993. He played in 12 games for the Patriots in 1993. He started five of those games. During this season, he made 35 tackles and three interceptions.
After the 1993 season, he became a free agent. But he re-signed with the Patriots on April 26, 1994. On August 19, 1994, he was traded to the Seattle Seahawks. However, the trade was canceled three days later. This happened because Wren did not pass a physical exam.
He returned to the Patriots and played in eight games in 1995. He made one tackle that season. After the 1995 season, he became a free agent again.
