Daryl Macon Jr. was born on November 29, 1995. He is an American professional basketball player. He currently plays for Maroussi in the Greek Basketball League. Before becoming a pro, he played college basketball for Holmes Community College and the Arkansas Razorbacks.

Early Life and High School Basketball
Daryl Macon Jr. grew up with his parents, Deloise and Daryl Macon Sr. He also has two sisters, Tiffany and Tierra.
He went to Parkview Arts and Science Magnet High School in Little Rock, Arkansas. During his last year there, he was a star player on the basketball team. He scored about 21.2 points in each game. He was also very good at shooting three-pointers, making over 40 percent of them. Because of his great playing, he was named first team 6A All-State.
College Basketball Journey
Daryl Macon started his college basketball career at Holmes Community College in 2014. In his first year, he was named a junior college All-American. He scored 23 points per game, which was the fourth highest in the NJCAA. He also got 4.1 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game. He was very accurate from the free-throw line, making 88.9 percent of his shots.
In his second year (2015–16), he continued to play well. He averaged 23.9 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per game. He was again recognized as one of the best players, being named to the NJCAA Division I Men's Basketball Third Team All-America. After two successful years, he decided to transfer to the Arkansas Razorbacks.
Playing for the Arkansas Razorbacks
As a junior in 2016–17, Macon was the second-highest scorer on his team. He averaged 13.4 points, 2.6 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 1.1 steals per game. He was chosen for the All-SEC Tournament team. He also won the SEC Player of the Week award in February 2017 after scoring 30 points in a game against Ole Miss. After this season, he thought about joining the 2017 NBA draft but decided to stay at Arkansas for another year.
In his senior year, he was named to the Second Team All-SEC. Macon was a top player, averaging 17.1 points and 4.0 assists per game. He was the best in the SEC at shooting three-pointers, making 43.8 percent of them. He earned the SEC Player of the Week award three times that year. He and his teammate Jaylen Barford both reached 1,000 career points during their senior night game.
Professional Basketball Career
Dallas Mavericks and Texas Legends (2018–2019)
After the 2018 NBA draft, Daryl Macon did not get picked by an NBA team. However, he received offers from several NBA teams and clubs overseas. He joined the Miami Heat for the NBA Summer League. On July 30, 2018, he signed a special contract with the Dallas Mavericks. This contract allowed him to play for both the Mavericks and their G League team, the Texas Legends.
In his very first game with the Texas Legends, Macon scored an amazing 35 points. The Legends won the game 126–120 against the Austin Spurs. Macon made his first NBA appearance on October 26, 2018, playing for one minute against the Toronto Raptors. He was released by the Mavericks on July 26, 2019.
Miami Heat and Sioux Falls Skyforce (2019–2020)
On September 20, 2019, Macon signed with the Miami Heat. After their training camp, the Heat changed his contract to a "two-way contract." This meant he would play mostly for their G League team, the Sioux Falls Skyforce. The Miami Heat released Macon on January 8, 2020. A week later, the Sioux Falls Skyforce brought him back to their team. He averaged 17.0 points and 4.7 assists per game for the Skyforce.
Playing in Europe and Asia
Galatasaray (2020–2021)
On July 24, 2020, Daryl Macon signed with Galatasaray. This team plays in the Turkish Basketball Super League (BSL) and the Basketball Champions League.
AEK Athens (2021)
On January 29, 2021, Macon joined AEK Athens in the Greek Basket League. He played his first game on February 6, 2021, scoring 18 points in a big win for AEK. He finished the season averaging 18.2 points and 3.7 assists per game.
Panathinaikos (2021–2022)
On July 11, 2021, Macon signed with Panathinaikos. This is another team in the Greek Basket League and also plays in the EuroLeague. In 31 Greek Basket League games, he averaged 11.8 points and 3.7 assists. In 31 EuroLeague games, he averaged 13.1 points and 3.6 assists.
UNICS Kazan (2022–2023)
On July 9, 2022, Macon signed a two-year contract with the Russian club UNICS Kazan. This team plays in the VTB United League. In 39 games, he averaged 15.1 points, 3.7 assists, and 1.2 steals per game. He was also very good at free throws, making 86.6 percent of them.
Shenzhen Aviators (2023)
In 2023, Macon played for the Shenzhen Aviators in China. In 17 games, he averaged 18.9 points and 6.1 assists per game. He also shot 89.6% from the free-throw line.
In August 2024, Macon signed a contract to play for Maccabi Tel Aviv in Israel. However, his contract was ended in September 2024. He had an ACL injury from his time with Shenzhen and needed surgery. He went back to the United States for his recovery.
Shanghai Sharks (2025)
In March 2025, Macon joined the Shanghai Sharks team in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA).
