Dave Kearney (born on June 19, 1989) is a former Irish rugby union player. He played as a wing or fullback. Dave played for teams like Lansdowne, Leinster, and the Irish national team.
Dave's older brother, Rob Kearney, was also a famous rugby player. He played fullback for Leinster and the Irish national team. Interestingly, Dave Kearney is also a distant cousin of former U.S. President Joe Biden.

Dave Kearney went to Clongowes Wood College. He started his professional rugby career with Leinster. He played for them for 14 years.
Playing for Leinster
Dave Kearney played his first game for Leinster on May 16, 2009. He came into the game as a substitute. He scored his first try for Leinster in December 2009. This was during the 2009–10 season.
In the 2010–11 season, Dave scored four tries in 13 matches. These matches were part of the Celtic League. On March 12, 2021, he scored three tries in one game against Zebre. This brought his total tries for Leinster to 51. Because of his great performance, he was chosen for the Pro14 Dream Team in 2020–21. Dave announced in May 2023 that he would leave Leinster after 14 years.
Playing for Ireland
Dave Kearney also played for Ireland's national rugby teams. He played 17 games for the Ireland Under-20 team. He also played 2 games for the Ireland Wolfhounds. In his second game for the Wolfhounds, he scored a try.
He earned 19 caps for the senior Ireland team. A "cap" means he played in an international match. He made his debut against Samoa. In that game, he came on as a substitute and scored two tries. Dave played in every match of the 2014 Six Nations Championship. Ireland won their 12th Championship title that year. Dave was one of only three players to play every minute of every game. His brother Rob and Jamie Heaslip were the other two.
