David Charles Carnegie, 4th Duke of Fife (born 3 March 1961) is a British peer and a businessman. A "peer" is someone who holds a special title, like a Duke, and is part of the nobility in the United Kingdom.

He is the only living son of the previous Duke of Fife, James Carnegie, and his former wife, Caroline Dewar. David Carnegie became the Duke of Fife on 22 June 2015, after his father passed away. He also became the Chief of the Clan Carnegie, which is a historic family group in Scotland.

The Duke of Fife is related to the British Royal Family. He is a descendant of Edward VII, who was a King of the United Kingdom. He is also a third cousin of King Charles III. This means they share great-great-grandparents.

His Early Life and Education

David Carnegie went to Eton College, a famous school in England. After that, he studied at Pembroke College, Cambridge, and earned a degree in 1982.

He also attended the Royal Agricultural College in Cirencester, which teaches about farming and land management.

His Career Path

From 1982 to 1985, David Carnegie worked for a stock brokerage company in London called Cazenove. Stock brokers help people buy and sell shares in companies.

Later, in 1988 and 1989, he worked for an investment company in Edinburgh. He then earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the University of Edinburgh Business School in 1990. An MBA is a special degree for people who want to work in business management.

Between 1992 and 1996, he worked with financial advisors. Since 2003, he has lived at Kinnaird Castle, Brechin in Angus, Scotland. This castle is one of the historic homes of the Carnegie family.

His Family Life

David Carnegie married Caroline Anne Bunting on 16 June 1987 in London. Caroline was born in Windsor, Berkshire on 13 November 1961.

They have three sons:
