David Corley Jr. was born on April 12, 1980. He is a coach and former American football quarterback. He played college football for William & Mary. Today, he works as the assistant quarterbacks coach for the Pittsburgh Steelers in the National Football League (NFL).

David Corley Jr.'s Early Life

David Corley Jr. was born in Salisbury, North Carolina. His parents are David Sr. and Gail Corley. David played high school football at Fairfield Central High. This school is located in Winnsboro, South Carolina. In his last two years of high school, Fairfield had an amazing record. They won 30 games and lost none. They also won two state football championships in a row.

College Football Career

Corley Jr. played football as a starting Quarterback for four years. He played at William & Mary from 1999 to 2002. This team is part of the NCAA Division I FCS. He chose William & Mary because of coach Jimmye Laycock's skill. Coach Laycock was known for helping quarterbacks get better. Corley was also wanted by other big schools. These included Clemson and South Carolina.

In 2001, Corley led his team to a great season. He threw for 2,808 yards and 21 touchdowns. The team finished with 8 wins and 4 losses. They won the Atlantic 10 title. They also made it to the NCAA I-AA Playoffs. Corley still holds many records at William & Mary. These include most passing yards (9,805) and total yards (10,948). He also holds the record for most touchdown passes (73). In 2014, Corley Jr. was honored. He was chosen for the William & Mary Athletics Hall of Fame.

Coaching Journey

After college, Corley started his coaching career. From 2004 to 2005, he coached at the high school level. He was the quarterbacks coach at C.A. Johnson Preparatory Academy. This school is in Columbia, South Carolina.

In 2018, Corley joined the Nittany Lions. He was first hired as the running backs coach. But two weeks later, he switched roles. He became the wide receivers coach. This happened after Ja'Juan Seider was hired. On January 2, 2019, Corley left his job at Penn State. This was the day after Penn State lost to Kentucky in the Citrus Bowl.

Coaching the Pittsburgh Steelers

On April 19, 2022, the Pittsburgh Steelers hired David Corley Jr. He became their Assistant quarterbacks coach. This role helps the team's quarterbacks improve their skills.
