David Crockett High School is a high school in Jonesborough, Tennessee. It is one of two main high schools in the Washington County School System. This school serves the southern part of the county. The other school, Daniel Boone High School, serves the northern part.

The school has about 1,164 students. It is named after David (Davy) Crockett, a famous American folk hero and frontiersman. This is a fun contrast to Daniel Boone High School, which is named after Daniel Boone. The two schools have a big football rivalry! David Crockett High's colors are brown and gold. Their mascot is a Pioneer.

Learning at David Crockett High

David Crockett High School offers many types of classes. These include career-focused classes, advanced college-level courses, and college credit programs.

Career and Technical Education (CTE)

CTE classes help students learn skills for specific jobs. Some of these classes include Agriculture, Teaching, Welding, and Nursing. Students can also study Business, Digital Design, and Culinary Arts. These programs can help students earn a Professional certification. This means they get a special document showing they have certain job skills. The school even has greenhouses for agriculture students.

Advanced Placement (AP) Classes

AP classes are college-level courses taught in high school. If students do well on an AP exam, they might earn college credit. This can save them time and money in college. David Crockett offers AP classes like Human Geography, US History, and Calculus. Many students take AP exams, and a good number pass them.

Dual Enrollment Programs

Dual Enrollment lets high school students take college classes. They can earn both high school and college credit at the same time. Students can take these classes at the high school, online, or at a college campus. David Crockett students have taken classes through East Tennessee State University and Northeast State Community College.
