Starting Out: Early Years in Italy
David Di Michele began his football journey with Lodigiani. This team was close to his hometown of Guidonia Montecelio. He played for them from 1993 to 1996. After that, he moved to Foggia Calcio in Serie B, which is a higher league.
He spent two seasons with Foggia before joining Salernitana. With Salernitana, he played his first game in Serie A. This is Italy's top football league. However, the next year, Salernitana moved down to Serie B.
Playing for Udinese: A Key Player
After two seasons with Salernitana, David Di Michele joined Udinese in 2001. He played for Udinese for one season. Then, he spent two seasons on loan with Reggina. He returned to Udinese in 2004.
In the 2005–06 season, he played half a season with Udinese. He even got to play in the UEFA Champions League. This is a very important European club competition.
During a 2004–05 Coppa Italia match, something amazing happened. David Di Michele scored two goals. Later, the team's goalkeeper was sent off. David took his place in goal! He even saved a penalty kick. This helped Udinese win the game 5–4.

International Career: Playing for Italy
David Di Michele played six games for the Italy national football team between 2005 and 2006. He made his first appearance for Italy on March 30, 2005. He was 29 years old. This was a friendly match against Iceland. His last game for Italy was on September 6, 2006. This was a qualifying match for the European Championship against France.
Coaching Career: From Player to Coach
David Di Michele stopped playing football in December 2015. He then became part of the coaching staff at his last club, Lupa Roma. In April 2016, he was named one of the head coaches for the club.
He continued as head coach for the next season. However, he was dismissed in October 2016 because of poor results. He was then rehired a month later by new club management. He left the club at the end of the 2016–17 season. The team was moved down to a lower league.
In 2018, David Di Michele joined Frosinone. He worked there as a youth coach for the Under-17 team. He left Frosinone in July 2022.
On October 25, 2022, David Di Michele became the new head coach of Serie C club Turris. But he was let go on December 23, 2022. The team's results did not improve.
