NBA Career
Joining the Indiana Pacers
The Indiana Pacers selected Harrison as the 29th pick in the 2004 NBA Draft. During his first season (2004–05), he was expected to be a backup center. However, due to injuries and suspensions of other players, Harrison got to start much sooner than planned. He started in 14 of the 43 games he played in his rookie year before an injury ended his season early.
On November 19, 2004, Harrison was involved in a large fight between the Pacers and the Detroit Pistons. He was not suspended by the league for his part in the event.
Later Years with the Pacers
In his second season (2005–06), Harrison played in 67 games and started 17 of them. He averaged 15.4 minutes per game, scoring 5.7 points and getting 3.8 rebounds.
In 2008, the Pacers suspended Harrison for one game after he argued with an official. In his first game back, he had an excellent performance with 4 points, 6 rebounds, and a career-high 6 blocks in only 20 minutes.
After the 2007–08 season, the Indiana Pacers did not offer him a new contract. He was invited to practice with the Minnesota Timberwolves but was not signed for the regular season.
Career After the NBA
After leaving the NBA, Harrison decided to play basketball in China, where he played for three seasons. He later returned to the United States and played for the Reno Bighorns in the NBA D-League during the 2011–2012 season. In 2012, he also played for the Dallas Mavericks summer league team.
After his basketball career, Harrison explored different jobs and business ideas. He worked as a financial adviser for a short time and also started a company to create mobile game apps.
In 2015, Harrison planned a comeback to basketball with a new league, but the league did not end up happening.
