Daviyon Nixon (born December 13, 1998) is an American professional football player. He plays as a defensive end. Daviyon played college football for two teams: Iowa Western C.C. and the Iowa Hawkeyes. The Carolina Panthers picked him in the fifth round of the 2021 NFL draft.

Growing Up and High School Sports
Daviyon Nixon grew up in Kenosha, Wisconsin. He went to Indian Trail High School and Academy. There, he was a star in both basketball and football. In his senior year, he was named one of the best players in his conference and state. Daviyon wanted to play college football at Iowa. However, he could not join right away because of his grades.
College Football Journey
Daviyon started his college football journey at Iowa Western Community College. In his first year, he had five sacks and nine tackles that stopped opponents from gaining yards. He was named a second-team All-Conference player. After one year, his grades improved, and he could play for a bigger team. He then joined the Iowa Hawkeyes.
Daviyon spent his first year at Iowa as a "redshirt" player. This means he practiced with the team but did not play in games. This helped him get ready for future seasons. In his second year, he played in all 13 games. He made 29 tackles and had three sacks. He was named the best defensive player and best defensive lineman in his conference. In his third year, he was chosen as an All-America player. This means he was one of the best college football players in the whole country.
Playing in the NFL
Carolina Panthers
The Carolina Panthers picked Daviyon Nixon in the 2021 NFL Draft. He was the 158th player chosen overall. He signed a four-year contract with the team. In October 2021, he got a knee injury and was placed on the injured reserve list. This meant he could not play for a while.
In September 2022, the Panthers released him, but then signed him to their practice squad. A practice squad is a group of players who train with the team but are not on the main roster. Later that month, he was moved to the active roster. He was released again in December.
Seattle Seahawks
In December 2022, Daviyon signed with the Seattle Seahawks. However, he was released by the team just six days later.
Miami Dolphins
On March 7, 2024, Daviyon Nixon signed with the Miami Dolphins. He was released by the Dolphins in June.
