About Dayana Kirillova
Early Life and Training
Dayana was born on April 16, 2002, in Kazan, Tatarstan, Russia. She still lives there with her family. Her unique name came about because her parents thought she would be a boy. They had chosen the boy's name Danil.
When Dayana was four years old, her grandmother took her to an audition. This was at a local community center. The teachers at first said Dayana couldn't sing well. But they let her join if she wanted to learn. Since then, she has studied singing with her teacher, Eleanora Kalashnikova, for many years. Dayana first performed on stage when she was just four.
Singing Groups and Dance
Dayana performs as a solo artist. She also sings as part of a vocal trio called Barbie Cocktail. Since 2012, Dayana has also been learning dance. She attends a dance studio that is part of the Todes network.

Junior Eurovision and Slavianski Bazaar
In 2012, Dayana came in second place in the Russian national final for Junior Eurovision. She missed first place by only two points. The next year, she won the selection with her song "Mechtay". She then represented Russia at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2013 with the song "Dream On".
Earlier in 2013, Dayana was also chosen to represent Russia. This was for the children's contest at the 2013 Slavianski Bazaar. She had also just missed out on this in 2012. At Slavianski Bazaar, she shared third place with Galina Dubok from Ukraine.
Dayana's Performance Style
Dayana's teacher, Eleanora Kalashnikova, often praises her. She says Dayana has a great vocal range. She also has amazing stage presence. According to her teacher, Dayana loves performing. She acts like a "grown-up" on stage. Performing for a big audience is a "sheer pleasure" for Dayana.
Most of Dayana's songs are written just for her. Her teacher, Eleanora Kalashnikova, composes them. She explains that songs from cartoons no longer fit Dayana's voice. So, she creates special songs that are perfect for Dayana.
